Tysons

Tysons originally got its name when Maryland native, William Tyson, purchased a tract of land around 1851 in what was formerly known as Peach Grove. From then on, the area was dubbed "Tysons Crossroads." However, it would be a long time until Tysons saw the beginning of the rapid development we know today. As recently as the 1950's, Tysons was still a quiet rural area dotted with small stores and fruit stands. It wasn't until 1962 that Tysons would see big changes with the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approving the Tysons Corner Shopping Center (now Tysons Corner Center). Now, Tysons Corner is an upscale suburban community known for its luxurious amenities and thriving business district.

One of the defining features of living in Tysons Corner is its exceptional accessibility. The area is strategically positioned at the intersection of major transportation routes, including the Capital Beltway (I-495) and the Dulles Toll Road (VA-267), making it incredibly convenient for residents to commute to nearby cities or travel to the rest of the country. Additionally, the Tysons Corner Metro station, part of the Silver Line, provides easy access to downtown D.C. and other parts of the metropolitan area.

Tysons Corner is renowned for its world-class shopping and entertainment options. The neighborhood is home to Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria, two premier shopping destinations featuring an impressive array of high-end retailers, luxury brands, and specialty boutiques. Tysons Corner's rapid growth and expansion have brought many new office buildings to the landscape over the past 15 years.
