Manassas Park

The journey toward Manassas Park's status as an independent city started in 1955 when it was created and built as a subdivision of Prince William County. By 1956 residents had founded a civic association, and by 1957 they were petitioning the courts to be recognized as a town. In 1975 Manassas Park finally gained its status as an independent city. Since then, it has been Virginia's newest city!

Manassas Park brims with an assortment of parks and green spaces, offering ample opportunities for outdoor recreation. Signal Hill Park, for instance, features sports fields, picnic areas, a fishing pond, and a waterpark for those hot Northern Virginia summer days. The city is surrounded by history, with the Manassas National Battlefield Park just a short drive away - a significant site of two major American Civil War battles.

Accessibility is one of Manassas Park's assets. It is served by the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), which offers a straightforward commute to Washington D.C., ideal for those who work in the capital but prefer the quieter pace of life in Manassas Park. Additionally, the city's location near major highways makes traveling throughout the broader Northern Virginia region a breeze.
